Day 1 of 14 Day Gorillas | East Africa Tented Safari with Euro Uganda Safaris
On arrival in Kigali, you are met off your flight by Euro Uganda Safari guide/driver and transferred to the Kigali Marriott Hotel for your overnight rest. Lemigo is a comfortable, mid-range city hotel with a pool. Should you wish to arrive early, extra nights accommodation can be arranged.

Day 2
This morning you will be briefed by your guide before we depart for the Uganda border to complete border formalities. A short drive to our first activity, the Batwa Trail, a cultural experience that offers a glimpse of the traditional life of the Batwa (pygmies) who were forest dwellers. The activity introduces travelers to Batwa’s life comprised of hunting, fruit gathering, collecting honey and performing rituals in the caves within the forest. The Batwa lived in harmony with forest animals including the mountain gorillas for over 500,000 years. They are the main beneficiaries of the activity. Continue to check in to our lodge in the Bwindi area for check-in, dinner and overnight rest.

Day 3
Today you set off on your Uganda gorilla tracking adventure in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to half of the world’s total mountain gorilla population. While trekking through the dense forest you’ll have the opportunity to view the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the Gentle Giants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park surely is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. After this captivating and unforgettable experience, you will head back to your lodge for some relaxation.

Day 4
We depart this morning to return back across the Rwandan border and on to Kigali where a tour will be undertaken the Genocide Memorial site, a grim reminder of a senseless massacre of innocent’s lives in 1994. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide and how Rwanda has dealt with that past. The recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience. After a visit, we continue to the airport for your flight Nairobi. On arrival, you are transferred to the five stars Boma Hotel.

Day 5
Depart Nairobi after breakfast and drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Settle into the Entim Mara Camp for the next three nights that offers 10 luxury tents close to the Mara River. Entim was designed with a purpose in mind; to be in the best possible location to view the wildebeest migration. For a few months of the year, the migration is on our doorstep on the Mara river. After lunch enjoys your first game drive in the Mara. Returning to the camp, enjoy some relaxation on your private veranda, sundowners, and dinner in the central dining area.

Day 6-7
Spend the next two days on safari in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The plains around the camp are filled with an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, from plains game to large herds of elephant and buffalo – and, of course, predators. You may wish to book an optional Mara Balloon Safari (cost extra).

Day 8
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip in Masai Mara for a scheduled Air Kenya Flight to Serengeti Seronera Airstrip via Migori and Tarime Airstrips near the border of Kenya and Tanzania respectively. The flight is 30 minutes to Migori Airstrip where you are put on a road transfer across the border for immigration and customs procedures, then on to Tarime Airstrip to connect to Tanzanian domestic flight to the Serengeti National Park. On arrival, you will be collected by your Tanzania guide and vehicle and proceed to Ang’ata Tented Camp to check in for three nights. Explore the Serengeti on an afternoon game drive.

Day 9-10
With two full days game-driving in the park, your options are wide. Game drives can be taken morning and afternoon. The Serengeti is renowned for its lion and additionally for its wealth of cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, eland, impala, klipspringer, hippo and warthog. This is a true wildlife haven. You may wish to book an optional Serengeti Balloon Safari (cost extra).

Day 11
After breakfast depart the camp with a game drive en route to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. We will stop for a picnic lunch and a visit to the world-famous Olduvai Gorge Palaeolithic site and reputed ‘Cradle of Mankind’. Check into our tented camp in the Ngorongoro area for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 12
This morning you depart the camp for a half-day excursion to the Ngorongoro Crater. This protected area is located in the Great Rift Valley. The Crater actually is a gigantic fracture of the earth’s crust. The magnificent landscape consists of volcanoes, mountains, plains, lakes, forests and archaeological sites. At 1600 meters altitude the bottom of the Crater (265 km square), dotted with watering holes, offers shelter to almost 30.000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. The Crater elephants are strangely, mainly bulls. There is a small number of black rhino. The birdlife is largely seasonal and is also affected by the ratio of soda and fresh water on the Crater floor. You will also explore the wildlife: lions, elephants, zebra, hippo, buffalos, and rhino are just a few to be mentioned. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. After an exciting safari ascends the crater wall and drives to check in to Maramboi Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 13

Day 14 of 14 Day Gorillas | East Africa Tented Safari
After breakfast, drive to Arusha where lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Transfer to Arusha Airport to connect to your onward flight or consider an extension to Zanzibar.
