Day 1 of 8 Day Kilimanjaro Trekking Lemosho Tour with Euro Uganda Safaris
Today we will journey for about 2.5 miles and it should take around 3-4 hours. After breakfast, drive to Londorosi Park Gate (2250m/7380ft, 2.5 hours). From here we will come to a forest track requiring a 4WD vehicle. This street will lead us to Lemosho Glades. Keep strolling along forest trails to Mti Mkubwa (enormous tree) Campsite.
Today we will climb 11,500 ft for 5.5 miles. This should take us 5-6 hours. After breakfast, we will proceed as the trail progressively steepens and enters the monster heather moorland zone. Today we will climb 3-4 hours to Barafu Hut at 15,100 ft. After breakfast, we will begin climbing to Barafu Hut. Here you will have finished the Southern Circuit which offers the perspectives on the summit from a wide range of edges. Here we will rest and get the last instructions from your expert guide before the summit night. The two pinnacles of Mawenzi and Kibo can be seen from this position.
Promptly in the morning, we will proceed with our way to the summit of Uhuru Peak at 5985 meters (19,636 ft). This piece of the trip takes around 6 hours.
